Hmm, been awhile since I had a good post complete with pictures and what not. I have been feeling extra crafty the last couple weeks, so lots of projects are being worked on.
First, there is a partially knitted beet:I joined the Beets for Dwight group on Ravelry. The point is to knit a beet (there are a couple free patterns out there now, but I am knitting the beet out of Berroco #274 booklet) and send it to this lady who will then send all the beets to Rainn Wilson (the guy who plays Dwight on The Office). I have never heard a better idea in my life, so I joined the group. I am hoping to finish the beet by the end of this week and get it mailed off.
I have also been working on my Rusted Root:
I am getting there with this one. It's just a lot of stockinette. Turns out that little bit of lace is not quite enough to hold my interest for long periods of time. But, I am trying to pick it up a little everyday in hopes that it will be done soon.
I also finished knitting a little shrug to match my bridesmaids dress for my sister's wedding in October (how's that for advance planning on the knitting front!?). I will get pictures of that soon. It's currently quite dark outside.
Other than then the knitting, there has been some yarn dyeing:
(That's Go Cubs Go, available now on my etsy site: http://knittinglikecrazy.etsy.com)
And there has also been some spinning:
(Both skeins are roughly worsted weight yarns. The left one is 1.5 oz (about 85-ish yards) of CJKopec fiber in the Midnight Desire colorway. The right one is 2 oz (about 110 yards) of Forest Fiber Works fiber in the Lemongrass colorway). I have more roving left for both of these, and will be hopefully spinning them up soon.
I probably would have finished up the roving to go with the above skeins, had I not been distracted by another colorway:It's the Cherry Plum colorway from Whimzy Pimzy. Her stuff is awesome. You should check her out!
Anyway, that's all for now. Happy knitting and spinning!
