Hmm, been awhile since I had a good post complete with pictures and what not. I have been feeling extra crafty the last couple weeks, so lots of projects are being worked on.
First, there is a partially knitted beet:I joined the Beets for Dwight group on Ravelry. The point is to knit a beet (there are a couple free patterns out there now, but I am knitting the beet out of Berroco #274 booklet) and send it to this lady who will then send all the beets to Rainn Wilson (the guy who plays Dwight on The Office). I have never heard a better idea in my life, so I joined the group. I am hoping to finish the beet by the end of this week and get it mailed off.
I have also been working on my Rusted Root:
I am getting there with this one. It's just a lot of stockinette. Turns out that little bit of lace is not quite enough to hold my interest for long periods of time. But, I am trying to pick it up a little everyday in hopes that it will be done soon.
I also finished knitting a little shrug to match my bridesmaids dress for my sister's wedding in October (how's that for advance planning on the knitting front!?). I will get pictures of that soon. It's currently quite dark outside.
Other than then the knitting, there has been some yarn dyeing:
(That's Go Cubs Go, available now on my etsy site: http://knittinglikecrazy.etsy.com)
And there has also been some spinning:
(Both skeins are roughly worsted weight yarns. The left one is 1.5 oz (about 85-ish yards) of CJKopec fiber in the Midnight Desire colorway. The right one is 2 oz (about 110 yards) of Forest Fiber Works fiber in the Lemongrass colorway). I have more roving left for both of these, and will be hopefully spinning them up soon.
I probably would have finished up the roving to go with the above skeins, had I not been distracted by another colorway:It's the Cherry Plum colorway from Whimzy Pimzy. Her stuff is awesome. You should check her out!
Anyway, that's all for now. Happy knitting and spinning!

I'm here!
Yeah, I have been terrible about blogging. Even if you go on Ravelry, you will see I am way behind on my picture taking. I am hoping this weekend I can get that fixed.
So, I have no pictures to show you, but I thought I would at least give you a rundown of all the things I have been knitting. I have lots of things on the needles. More than I would like to admit really.
In no particular order:
Happy knitting!
So, I have no pictures to show you, but I thought I would at least give you a rundown of all the things I have been knitting. I have lots of things on the needles. More than I would like to admit really.
In no particular order:
- My Rick socks. One sock is done and I am on the cuff of sock number two. I am still loving the pattern. I just have been distracted by other things.
- My Mock Cable rib socks for Tim. Again, one sock is done. I think I am having a Second Sock Syndrome problem these days.
- The plain toe-up socks I have been working on for a year. They have made it back into the knitting bag, but are not being worked on much. I am on the toe of sock number two.
- Twitterpated Purse. I literally have the handle sewn on one side. I just need to do the other side and line it and I would be done.
- Lucy. This is my shawl for my sister's wedding in October. It's been sittng in a time out for a couple weeks now. I am not convinced that the yarn wants to turn into that shawl. Am considering ripping it out to knit something else.
- Rusted Root. I am about halfway done with the body of this top. I have been working on this a lot lately. I could be done in the next few days.
- Knitted Beet. That's right. I am knitting a beet. I joined a group on Ravelry to knit a beet to send to a woman who is collecting the beets to send to Rainn Wilson (who plays Dwight on The Office). I am on leaf one of three. I think this may be done tomorrow.
- Spinning. I have eight ounces of Corriedale from the CJKopec April Spin-A-Long I have been working on. It's going to be beautiful when I am done, and I am hoping I will have enough to do the yoke of a sweater or something.
Happy knitting!
