So, last night I attended the Yarn Harlot event in Oak Lawn. As with the last time, I was the first one there (as to miss the Chicago rush hour traffic/try to be in the front row, which ended up not happening this time which you think would have because I was there first, but I digress). To pass the time, I knit a sock, and kinneared myself, as apparently is my new tradition when going to see the Yarn Harlot in Oak Lawn:
I met up with some of my knitting buddies (l to r: Cathy, Melissa, Sarah, and Melissa): Then the Yarn Harlot came out and I took the obligitory picture for my blog of her taking a sock picture for her blog:After a very hilrious talk and some question and answers it was time to meet her:Really, I can't think of a better way to spend a Friday evening. Even though people told me not to talk about it, I did tell Stephanie about how I unsuccessfully tried to stalk her in Toronto while on vacation a couple weeks ago.
I expect notice of the restraining order any day now. :)
Anywho, while at Yarn Harlot, I had so much knitting time, I finished my Hedera-esque socks:The Summary:
The Pattern: Hedera from Knitty, modified, so the pattern would run down opposite sides of each sock, as I had seen on a couple people's Ravelry.
The Yarn: BMFA Socks That Rock Mediumweight in the Midsummer Night colorway
The Needles: Dum Dum Dummmm! I did not use size two dpn's for these socks. I used a size 2 40 inch circular and knit them with magic loop!
The Result: I love the socks and I love the magic loop. I did the socks one at a time, which made me really love the one circular. The two at a time gets too tangled for me.
Well, that's it for today. It is now too beautiful outside to be sitting inside on the computer. I may have a lunch date followed by some outdoor BBQ goodness. Oh, and there will be knitting outside in a lawn chair with a beer by my side. That is the best thing ever.
Happy knitting!
